7th Infantry Battalion Team fundraising for The Cancer Clinical Research Trust with The Cancer Clinical Trust Team

A team of 14 soldiers from the defence forces will be taking on the Dublin City Half Marathon in full battle kit to raise funds for the Cancer Clinical Research Trust. We’re doing this in support of one of our own, whose mother is currently battling cancer. As soldiers, we stand together — not only in our duties, but when our teammates and their families need support the most. Running 21km in full kit will be a tough challenge, but it’s nothing compared to the fight that so many people and families face every day. Any support, big or small, would mean a lot and will go directly towards vital cancer research. Thank you for helping us support a great cause. 🇮🇪 The Team: CPL JORDAN CARNEY CPL ROSS MULLEN CPL GER POWER CPL GAV POWER CPL DAN KEENAN CPL JAMIE O REILLY CPL EDWARD CLARKE CPL RYAN LYNCH CPL PAUL KEANE CPL SEAN REDMOND SGT MATHEW REYNOLDS LT JOE TALLON COMDT RICHARD BARBER LT COL ALAN COURTNEY

About The Cancer Clinical Research Trust

CCRT is a registered charity founded by Professor John Crown, and which now supports a truly translational cancer research program, under the leadership of the CCRT Board of Directors. Translational research is research which spans the laboratory and the clinic. Often referred to as ‘bench- to-bedside’ research as the aim is to translate findings made in the lab to patient care. We are a small organisation and pride ourselves on being lean with minimal administration costs. CCRT has a compact team of clinical research nurses, data managers and scientists, working together with consultant medical oncologists, who are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to cancer patients through continuous research and access to cutting edge clinical trials. Our clinical trials are conducted across all cancer types including breast, ovarian, prostate, lung, pancreatic and melanoma (skin cancer), to name but a few. We are very grateful for your support.
