About HIV Ireland
Our Vision
To contribute towards a significant reduction in the incidence and prevalence of HIV in Ireland and towards the realisation of an AIDS-free generation.
Our Mission
Advocating for individuals living with HIV, preventing new HIV infections and combating HIV-related stigma and discrimination.
Our Objectives
To work towards reducing the prevalence of HIV in Ireland through effective prevention strategies.
To increase public awareness and understanding around HIV and AIDS and to reduce the stigma and discrimination connected with HIV and AIDS.
To improve the quality of life for people living with HIV through quality evidence-based support and advocacy services.
To enhance the promotion of broader sexual health objectives through education and training and through health promotion projects/campaigns in line with national policy.
To inform and to influence policy around issues concerning HIV prevention and sexual health and relating to the lives of people living with HIV.
About Blackrock Health Galway Clinic Streets of Galway 8k 2025
The Blackrock Health Galway Clinic Streets of Galway 8K on 9 August 2025 is an 8km road race in its 39th year, organised by Galway City Harriers.
Since its inception in 1986 the event has grown into one of the most prestigious road races in the country, yet remains true to its original motto of Sport for All, as many locals and visitors take on the event year in year out.
The event will bring thousands of participants onto the streets of our city and suburbs into what is a fantastic event for the city.
The Streets is a fast and flat 8k race routing around Galway City, Salthill and the famous Claddagh . It attracts thousands of runners from all walks of life to the city on a superb summers evening in the City of the Tribes
Race Start is 7pm at Fr Griffin Road and Race finish is at South Park, HQ is the Claddagh Hall at Nimmos Pier
