Richard Kennedy fundraising for The Gavin Glynn Foundation in Wicklow 200 - 2026

In February 2024, our world was turned upside down when our gorgeous son Finley, just shy of 15, was diagnosed with brain cancer. What followed was gruelling and intensive treatment comprising of chemotherapy and surgery in Crumlin and Temple Street Hospitals followed by radiation treatment in The Christie Hospital, Manchester. During Summer 2024, Finley received daily specialised radiation that is not available in Ireland. This is when John & Jayne Glynn of The Gavin Glynn Foundation (TGGF) stepped into our lives and simply took over. In doing so they allowed us to fully concentrate on getting Finley better. They organised everything; flights, transfers and accommodation plus financial support, with no questions asked. We simply cannot thank John & Jayne enough for their invaluable support during this very difficult time in our lives. In honour of Finley's inspirational courage, resilience & determination, then and to this day, on June 7th, I'm cycling 100km in the annual "Wicklow 200" cycling sportive. I'm raising funds not only to give back to TGGF but also to give forward, for other families who do not yet know that they may need the support of this wonderful charity. Thankfully Finley is going from strength to strength and is well on the way to recovery. Your support will be much appreciated and if you can help me to promote this page then even better. You can share my page on any social media using the social sharing sections. Mile Buiochas, Richard.

About The Gavin Glynn Foundation

The mission of The Gavin Glynn Foundation is to assist families battling childhood cancer in Ireland with all the logistical and financial aspects of travelling overseas for specialist cancer treatment not available in Ireland. We are the only registered charity in Ireland providing this support to families battling childhood cancer. The Gavin Glynn Foundation arrange all logistics and cover all costs associated with: • Transportation (eg. Flights, Car Hire). • Transportation to and from the designated Airports. • Accommodation within, or close to, the designated medical centre. • Food and living expenses for the duration of the child’s treatment while abroad. By taking the financial burden and stress away from the families, it allows parents focus all their time on their child and family. To date, with the support of the Foundation’s amazing supporters, The Gavin Glynn Foundation has been able to help 415 families from all over Ireland. Please visit www.TGGF.IE
