I am excited to participate in the Chicago Marathon in support of Kenya Children’s Centres. Kenya holds deep personal meaning for me and my family. My grandparents and parents spent their childhoods growing up in Kenya, and as a result, the country has always been an important part of our family’s story and identity. These connections have continued across generations, and I still have family living in Kenya today. Supporting Kenya Children’s Centres allows me to give back to a place that has shaped my family’s history in such a meaningful way. Running for this charity is not only a personal challenge, but also a way for me to honor my family’s roots and contribute to improving the lives and futures of children in the communities that feel like home to us.
