Ciara Sheppard running Dublin Half Marathon in aid of NBCRI fundraising for National Breast Cancer Research Institute
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am running the Dublin Half Marathon on the 22nd of September and raising money for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute. I’m hoping to raise €2,100 (€100 for each km) with all funds going to the world class research done at the Lambe Institute, University of Galway. The National Breast Cancer Research Institute is a national charity that funds a comprehensive research programme at the University of Galway. Research has improved the diagnosis, treatment options, and outcomes for those who develop the disease. Currently, 1 in 7 Irish women will be diagnosed with breast cancer before 75 years of age and there are 3,507 cases diagnosed annually which is set to continue to increase. With my mum having had breast cancer, this is a charity very close to my heart. I really appreciate all donations. All the best, Ciara
