Rob Campbell fundraising for Aoibheanns Pink Tie in Dublin City Council Dublin City Half Marathon 2026
On May 3rd I’ll be running the Dublin City Half Marathon to raise money for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie. I won’t be alone ,my sister-in-law Emer and her boyfriend Steve will be joining me. This will be my first half marathon and, as most of you know, I am definitely not a runner. But this charity holds a very special place in both mine and my wife Keren’s hearts, as they have been supporting our son Tom through a very challenging time. Tom was diagnosed at just 4 months old and our world stopped. The support we received from the incredible teams in Temple Street and Crumlin was unbelievable. I also want to give a special mention to Dr. Jane Pears, Dr. Darach Crimmins and Dr. Daniel Murray. Another huge support to us has been the wonderful team at Aoibheann’s Pink Tie. They provide support and comfort for children and families facing childhood cancer ,from practical help and emotional support, to providing accommodation near hospitals so families can stay together while their child receives treatment. They also bring moments of joy to children going through incredibly tough times. I’m very happy to say Tom is doing great and we recently celebrated his first birthday. It’s amazing how strong he has been through all of this, and I’m constantly in awe of his strength and ability to bounce back. Aoibheann’s Pink Tie receives no government funding, so every donation,no matter how small, truly helps. If you can, please consider supporting us so this amazing charity can continue helping families who need it. Even something small like the price of a coffee can make a real difference. A final thank you to an old friend of mine, Breiffne O’Donnell. Breiffne and his team at @odonnellphysio are doing their best to keep me held together to get through this ,which is no easy task! Thank you so much for the support. Go raibh míle maith agat. Rob
