Natalia Pocelujko fundraising for ISPCA in The Fauna Trail Running Festival 2025
I’m Running 28km for the ISPCA – Help Me Give Animals a Second Chance This year, I’ve decided to run a 28km trail race in support of the ISPCA (Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). It’s a challenge, but one I’m excited to take on—because I’m doing it for a cause that’s very close to my heart. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I rescued two amazing dogs—Kai, a Siberian Husky, and Ozi, a Border Collie. They came into my life when everything felt uncertain, and they quickly became my closest companions. They are more than pets—they’re family. Through them, I discovered not only the joy of rescue, but also the harsh reality that many animals in Ireland are still suffering, without a safe home or anyone to care for them. That experience changed me. I learned how overstretched dog wardens, local shelters, and animal welfare teams truly are. There are so many animals that need help, but not enough resources to go around. I felt I had to do something more to support the people and organizations working on the front lines. That’s why I’ve chosen to support the ISPCA through this run. The ISPCA does amazing work—rescuing animals from cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. They provide shelter, medical care, rehabilitation, and, most importantly, a second chance at life. They also campaign for stronger animal protection laws and support local rescue efforts across the country. But they can’t do it without help from people like us. This run is my way of giving back to the animals still out there, waiting for someone to step in and help. If you’re able to donate, please do. Your contribution, no matter the amount, can help provide food, medical treatment, bedding, and safe shelter for an animal in need. It might even be the difference between life and death for an animal waiting to be rescued. And if you can’t donate right now, sharing this page or telling a friend is also a huge help. Thank you Natalia
