Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. I'm taking part in Cycle Against Suicide - Mizen to Malin Challenge starting Sunday September 8th in memory of my younger brother Alan who I lost to suicide in March 2020 at the age of 41. Unfortunately Alan lost his long struggle with mental illness and the last couple of years have shown us how depression and anxiety can strike us all at any stage. I've chosen to fundraise for Cycle Against Suicide to promote the great work this charity does in raising suicide awareness in schools and the wider community and letting us all know that it's ok not to feel ok and there is help at hand. All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause. I hope you can help me by donating whatever you can and sending me your positive thoughts on this 6 day 735km challenge as I'll need all the good vibes I can get! Simply click the Donate Now button. You can also share my page using Share button. Many thanks for all your generosity.

About Cycle Against Suicide

Cycle Against Suicide is an awareness charity (CHY 20687) that makes a valuable contribution to the public education of mental health by changing the narrative surrounding suicide. When an individual is vulnerable enough to consider taking their own life, silence is read as indifference. With hundreds of people dying by suicide in Ireland each year and research indicating that thousands more contemplate it, we all have a role to play to collectively address the challenges that suicide presents. In a bid to save more lives, Cycle Against Suicide through its programmes, sets out to change culture and create a society that openly talks about suicide to allow people to speak up and seek help.

About Mizen to Malin - Cycle for Hope Fundraising Campaign 2024

September is recognised as World Suicide Prevention Month, a time to acknowledge those affected by suicide and help raise awareness. We all play a critical role in preventing suicide. Each suicide is devasting and suicidal behaviour has a profound impact on those around them. Preventing suicide is possible and by raising awareness, reducing the stigma around suicide and by encouraging well-informed action, we can reduce the instances of it. By joining our Mizen to Malin challenge for World Suicide Prevention Day and Month, you are amplifying the message that suicide is preventable. You will be helping Cycle Against Suicide raise awareness. encouraging supportive conversations and help-seeking behaviour and ultimately, help give hope to those who are struggling. Furthermore, you will be supporting Cycle Against Suicide's commitment to suicide prevention. Through our programmes in schools, communities, and workplaces, we weave prevention into the very fabric of communities
