Mary Lyons fundraising for The Mater Hospital Foundation with Team Robbie in Aer Arann Islands Half Marathon 2026

Hi All As ye will all know a few months ago I signed up to take part in The Aer Aran Islands Half Marathon fundraiser for The Mater Hospital Foundation where my nephew Robbie (28 yrs of age) had been cared for over the last 8 years . John & Aileen , Kelly , Ciaran & Nicole are indebted to the Mater for the exceptional care he received there esp since his transplant in 2025 . Sadly since then our world has changed and we sadly lost Robbie in Feb . So this Run/Walk has now taken on a whole new meaning for myself , Robbie’s Family and friends taking part , we will now be completing it in memory of Robbie to honour his strength , his courage and the incredible care he received in the Mater Hospital . I am still fundraising for the Mater and we have renamed ourselves Team Robbie 💙 Any donation is much appreciated so if you would like to support I would be so grateful . The famous Aer Arann Islands Half Marathon returns to Inis Mór this spring, from 10th to 12th April 2026, with the marathon itself happening on Saturday, 11th April, all to support patient care in the Mater Hospital.
For more than 20 years, the Aer Arann Islands Half Marathon has supported worthy causes. We are honoured to work with the Marathon Committee to raise the funds to enable us to transform and improve patient care in The Mater Hospital, which provides expert, specialist treatment to hundreds of thousands of sick people and their families from all across Ireland each and every year.
The crucial funds you raise through the Aer Arann Half Marathon will allow our doctors and nurses to provide the very best care to critically ill patients when they need it most.
