Hi all! I am asking for any small contributions to breast cancer Ireland to help advance cancer care. I also want to raise awareness. In Dec 22, I was diagnosed with late stage 3 breast cancer. Symptoms were hard to spot, a tenderness in my armpit brought me to the gp. I was tired all the time, but I was in my 40s now so this is expected right?! 4 months chemo, 2 surgeries, 4.5 weeks of radium and now continuing oral meds have my body ravaged. Last year I committed to doing the 10k thinking I'd be running it, as it stands I will struggle to walk it. Everyone thinks your hair is back so you must be better. The reality is that we still struggle at every day tasks. New treatments will mean better life quality for cancer survivors and their families and with current statistics it is something we will all encounter in our lifetime. Please help with anything you can, and be aware of yourself and how your body feels. See you at the finish line! 🥵
