Mary Curran fundraising for Irish Cancer Society in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2024

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am running the Dublin City Marathon in memory of my dad, Aongus Curran, who passed away in 2016. His dedication and life's work as a Head and Neck cancer surgeon has inspired me to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society. The difference my dad made to the lives of so many people with cancer was evident to myself and my family by the hundreds of letters we received from his patients after his passing. By running in the Dublin City marathon I hope to honour his wonderful legacy and raise money for the treatment of cancer in Ireland. Any donations are greatly appreciated. Please feel free to share my page on social media using the provided links. Thank you again for your support. Mary

About Irish Cancer Society

Cancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people dying each year. That's almost 25 people dying from cancer every day across Ireland. An average of 1 person every hour. However, thanks to earlier detection, improved care and targeted treatments, more people are surviving cancer than ever before. Today, there are 200,000 cancer survivors in Ireland. The Irish Cancer Society are working towards a future where nobody dies from cancer, and everyone affected by the disease will have access to world class treatment and support. Typically receiving only 5% of income from the Government, your support helps provide key services to ensure no one has to face cancer alone and funds vital cancer research with over €30 million invested since 2010.
