Myself and my amazing colleagues Anita and Sarah are running the Belfast half marathon on the 20th September for Northern Ireland kidney research fund🏃‍♀️ We all work within the dialysis unit in the Ulster hospital as nurses so we have took this challenge on to give something back to our patients to enable this charity to continue their lifesaving research into kidney disease and renal services ✨ Chronic kidney disease affects around 80,000 people in Northern Ireland, with approximately 5% of adults affected. Although many people manage CKD without dialysis, a smaller proportion progress to kidney failure and require dialysis or a kidney transplant. I ran the full Belfast city marathon back in May for k9 search and rescue and I couldn’t have done it without these amazing colleagues running all the way with me so I feel privileged to do it again for another amazing charity 🤍 Any donation is greatly appreciated!
