I'm Running My First Ultra Marathon for St James's Hospital – Please Support! Hi everyone, On August 24th, I’ll be taking on my biggest running challenge yet—my first ever Ultra Marathon in Longford, 63.42km (39.3 mile) ! To make this milestone truly meaningful, I’m raising funds for St James's Hospital, a place that holds deep significance for my family and me. Two cherished family members (Daddy Tom & Mary) received outstanding care here before sadly passing away far too soon. We miss them every day. My amazing Aunty Danielle was also treated in the ICU during the height of Covid-19, where she fought a terrifying battle—and won. During this time, she also gave birth to her superstar baby, Corey. Thanks to the incredible care from every nurse and doctor, both Danielle and Corey pulled through and are home with us today, stronger than ever. I’m running in memory of those we’ve lost and in honor of those who were saved. The care, compassion, and expertise of the staff at St James’s will never be forgotten—and I want to give something back. Please consider supporting my fundraiser. Every donation, no matter the size, helps. If you can’t donate, sharing this page with your friends and family means the world to me. Thank you so much for your support—it truly means everything.

About Abbott Longford Marathon 2025

The Longford Marathon began in 2002 when the 1st Longford Marathon was organised to mark the completion of Longford Man Liam Fenelon's 100th Marathon.
20 years later the event is now a favourite fixture in the Athletics Running calendar and comprises the Streets of Longford 5K, The Longford Half Marathon, The Longford Marathon, a Marathon Team Relay and a 39.3 mile Ultra Marathon.
Our motto is "The Friendly Marathon in the Heart of Ireland", our race is organised by runners, for runners, over a flat course in the very middle of Ireland, running through the 3 counties of Longford, Roscommon and Leitrim.
We go the extra mile to make sure everything is organised properly and that every participant has the best possible experience on the day.
