In 2025, I ran 21km for the Cork City Marathon. I never imagined that exactly one year later, I would be diagnosed with cancer. At 24 years old, I’ve spent the last couple of months going through something I never expected to face. Treatment, hospital appointments, difficult days, good days, and a lot of uncertainty about what comes next. Now, one of the things I am looking forward to most is getting back to running. So in 2027, I’ll be taking on the Cork 10K for Breakthrough Cancer Research. But I’m not doing this just for myself. I’m doing it for everyone who had to hear the hard words. For the people currently going through treatment, for those who have finished it, for the families and friends beside them, and for those we wish were still here. Going through this has taught me that none of us are truly alone in this journey. We all have our own stories, our own struggles and our own reasons for keeping going, but we are all in this together. I want this run to be a celebration of that. Of getting back to something I love, of moving forward, and of supporting the research that can give more people better treatments, more hope and more time. If you would like to support me and Breakthrough Cancer Research, I would be incredibly grateful. ❤️ Remember, you are not alone.
