For more than 55 years, the Crisis Centre of BC has been a place where people in distress can reach out and know someone will listen. Every day and night, trained responders provide compassionate support to people experiencing crisis, loneliness, grief, or thoughts of suicide. We exist because everyone deserves support through crisis. Through crisis lines, suicide prevention training, youth education, and grief support, the Centre creates opportunities for connection where people are valued, heard, and supported. About Darkness Into Light with the Crisis Centre of BC.

Darkness Into Light 2026 is a global 5 km walk that begins before dawn at approximately 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026. As the sun rises, communities across the world will walk together from darkness into light in support of suicide prevention and mental health awareness.

This powerful event is more than a walk. It is a shared moment of hope, remembrance, and solidarity. Each step taken helps raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support lifesaving work for people experiencing crisis.
