Jennifer O Leary fundraising for Breakthrough Cancer Research in Cork City Marathon 2025
Hi everyone! I will be running the Cork Marathon 2026 in aid of Breakthrough Cancer Research. This is a cause very close to my heart and any support at all would be welcome whether that be a donation or getting a good laugh in at me on the day. Time to swap the vino for a run (a task many of you know is not easy for me!). Thanks very much xxx
About Breakthrough Cancer Research
Breakthrough Cancer Research is an Irish medical research charity focused on cancer, working hard to make sure our family, friends, and communities have access to the best treatments for cancer and never have to hear the words, 'there is no hope.'
Breakthrough invests in world-class research to impact the quality of life for people with cancer, and to save lives. Particularly focusing on improving the outcomes for cancers that are currently poorly served by available treatment options.
About Cork City Marathon 2025
Organised by Cork City Council, the marathon has three distances: the
Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K race. The routes weave through Cork
City’s scenic and vibrant streets and suburbs, past iconic landmarks and along
the bustling quays. The incredible support from Corkonians lining the streets,
paired with the camaraderie among participants, guarantees a memorable day for
all.
The Cork City Marathon is open to all, from elite athletes chasing
records to first-time runners tackling personal goals. It's more than a
race—it’s about community, resilience, and making a difference.
Building on the €200,000 raised for 58 charity partners in 2024, we aim
to double this target in the coming years. With our new tagline ‘Your Race,
Their Hope.’ We encourage participants to run for causes close to their hearts,
making every stride on June 1 count towards vital, life-changing work.
As a full member of AIMs the Cork marathon is IAAF certified.
