Jayne Kelly fundraising for Make-A-Wish Ireland in Cork City Marathon 2025

Hey everyone, On Sunday June 1st I will be running the Cork City Marathon!! This is a massive challenge for me but being able to raise money for such a great charity like the ‘Make A Wish Foundation’ is keeping me going and will get me to that finish line. Thanks so much for all your donations, Jayne💛

About Make-A-Wish Ireland

Make-A-Wish Ireland has one simple aim – to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, to bring hope, strength and happiness. Make-A-Wish does not receive any government funding and relies on the generosity of people like you to continue granting wishes. Make-A-Wish Ireland has granted over 3000 wishes since 1992. Every wish is unique and designed by our wish team and volunteers specifically for each child to hold special meaning to them. We can’t overstate the difference a wish can make to a sick child, bringing them strength, happiness and above all hope. These experiences create lasting memories for young people living with life-threatening illnesses and your donation plays an important part in that. We have much to do, with applications for wishes continuing to rise and over 250 children on our waiting list find out more here.

About Cork City Marathon 2025

Organised by Cork City Council, the marathon has three distances: the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K race. The routes weave through Cork City’s scenic and vibrant streets and suburbs, past iconic landmarks and along the bustling quays. The incredible support from Corkonians lining the streets, paired with the camaraderie among participants, guarantees a memorable day for all.

The Cork City Marathon is open to all, from elite athletes chasing records to first-time runners tackling personal goals. It's more than a race—it’s about community, resilience, and making a difference.

Building on the €200,000 raised for 58 charity partners in 2024, we aim to double this target in the coming years. With our new tagline ‘Your Race, Their Hope.’ We encourage participants to run for causes close to their hearts, making every stride on June 1 count towards vital, life-changing work.

As a full member of AIMs the Cork marathon is IAAF certified.
