Thank you for visiting the Rockport Runners’ Belfast City Marathon fundraising page. Your support means the world to us as we take on this incredible challenge through the streets of Belfast. Every step we run is dedicated to our current school charity, Sands, in honour of our colleague Stephen, his wife Nicci and their family, who sadly lost their baby, Fiachra Peadar John Smith, last year. We are running to remember him, to support his family, and to help other families facing this unimaginable loss. Sands works to support anyone affected by the death of a baby. They provide bereavement support services, helplines, online communities and local support groups for families. They also work closely with healthcare professionals to improve bereavement care and fund research aimed at reducing the number of babies who die before, during or shortly after birth.
