Fiona's marathon run for IHF fundraising for Irish Heart Foundation in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2024

IHF is a charity that is very important to me. Since my stroke in 2019, they have provided me with invaluable information, guidance and support. I'm a member of their Young Stroke Survivor Network which is a group that unfortunately, is rapidly increasing in numbers. The Irish Heart Foundation offers many free services that patients, families and carers can avail of - information talks, support groups, nurse support line, stroke connect service, counselling, exercise classes and various courses etc. It's not all doom and gloom, there's been many meet ups, laughs and new friendships built throughout my recovery journey. I'm running the Dublin Marathon to raise funds so the Irish Heart Foundation can continue to provide the vital care and support that stroke survivors and heart patients need post-hospital discharge.
