Ballina Primary School has 416 pupils and is situated in Ballina, Killaloe. We cater for pupils from Junior Infants to 6th Class and recently added a new extension for two of our three ASD classes. We are now commencing an upgrade to our outside play spaces where our pupils play, socialise and learn each day, beyond the classroom. To this end we have ambitious plans to make optimum use of outdoor play spaces, to include a mix of soft surface materials, ball courts, a new ball wall, some fixed play installations, some sensory and STEM items, playground graphics and surface markings, as well as some new fencing. We hope to complete this project over 4 years with the bulk of the work being confined to school holiday time. To help finance the project the school is embarking on a 4 year fundraising drive, with a target of €80,000 over the 4 years. We plan to use existing funds, available grant aid where possible and any donations from benefactors to bring this project to fruition.
