Eimear Dempsey fundraising for Endometriosis Association of Ireland

My name is Eimear Dempsey and I have decided to run a half marathon in order to raise money for the Endometriosis Association of Ireland. I chose this charity as endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women, yet it remains one of the most misunderstood and underdiagnosed health issues out there. Endometriosis isn’t just “bad periods” — it’s a chronic, often debilitating disease that impacts every aspect of a person’s life, from their physical health to their mental wellbeing, relationships, careers, and dreams. Too many people suffer in silence, waiting years for a diagnosis while navigating daily pain, fatigue, and the emotional weight that comes with being dismissed or misunderstood. The Endometriosis Association of Ireland does incredible work offering support, raising awareness, and advocating for better care and research. By raising these funds, I hope to help them continue their vital work, to give a voice to those living with endometriosis, and to be part of the change that ensures future generations don’t have to fight so hard to be heard.

About Endometriosis Association of Ireland

Endometriosis is a condition where cells similar to the ones in the lining of the womb (uterus) are found elsewhere in the body. The Endometriosis Association of Ireland's (EAI) purpose is to support and represent those impacted by endometriosis, by empowering the patient and advocating for change. Our vision is ready access to a timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment with lifelong care. The EAI supports its members by raising awareness, providing up to date information and advocating for best practice in related healthcare policy.
