Hi there, My name is Korina, and I’m thrilled to represent EcoFitness in this year’s 7 Day Arctic Challenge for the Irish Heart Foundation! Alongside 14 extraordinary women, I'll spend 7 days mastering survival skills in the harsh Arctic conditions. Every step we take in the freezing cold helps raise awareness and vital funds for the Irish Heart Foundation. All funds raised will go directly to the Irish Heart Foundation, supporting essential research, heart-health education, and care services for those affected by heart disease and stroke. I've personally covered my travel costs of €1300 which was donated into this page, ensuring that every penny you donate makes a real impact. Every hour someone in Ireland suffers from a stroke. Every day, hundreds of Irish people are diagnosed with heart disease. The lives of these people are often cut tragically short. Many are left disabled. Almost 9,000 people die each year, making heart disease and stroke one of the nation’s biggest killers. It shouldn’t be this way and this fact forms our reason for being. We are the nation’s heart and stroke charity. Our mission is to effect positive change in the lifestyles of Irish people, to achieve better outcomes for those affected by heart disease and stroke and to challenge when the health of our nation is put at risk. Women are SIX times more likely to die from heart disease and stroke than breast cancer. However, cardiovascular disease in women remains under-researched, under-diagnosed and under-treated for too long. We need to change that.

A team of women will be taking on the Arctic Challenge to raise vital funds and awareness around women's heart health - because Her Heart Matters!
