Darragh Hopkins fundraising for Irish Cancer Society in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2024
Hi, Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. My name is Darragh and I am one of the 2nd Year Medical Students in the University of Galway. I am running the Dublin City Marathon this year for one of my best friends, Richard. Richard and I have been friends for many years, having first started playing rugby together in Ballina Rugby Club in U6s. We've grown up alongside each other both in school and in sport. Earlier this year, Richard was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer. This is a type of rare cancer that develop in the bones and soft tissues of the body. I am running the Dublin City Marathon in October of this year and while this is a gruelling task for me personally, however, it is nothing compared to what Richard and the nearly 42,000 people diagnosed with cancer every year in Ireland battle through. I genuinely really appreciate your support and it truly makes a difference to cancer patients supported by the Irish Cancer Society. Go Raibh Mile Maith Agat, Darragh.
