Deirdre Redmond fundraising for Irish Cancer Society in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2024
Hi Everyone, My name is Deirdre Redmond and this year I am running my first ever marathon in October. Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Firstly I am running the Dublin Marathon in memory of my parents, Kathleen and Liam who both passed away from cancer in 1998 and 2011. They will be with me every step of this journey. Secondly, I am running the Dublin Marathon for the Irish Cancer Society as a cancer survivor myself. In February 2020, I was diagnosed with Stage One Triple Negative Breast Cancer at the age of 32. I had 3 surgeries over 3 years and completed 12 weeks of Chemo. Thankfully I have fully recovered to lead a healthy life once again with my daughter Saoirse and husband Declan. Four years ago, I did not know if I was going to be able to run again let alone train for a marathon. Every day I can lace up my runners and go for a run, is a good day. Thank you for taking time to read my story. Any donation big or small is hugely appreciated. Le Grá, Deirdre.
