Donna Conroy and Siobhain O’Connor fundraising for Irish Heart Foundation

On 2 June 2024, I am running the VHI mini marathon with my cousin Siobhain, in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation❤️ This cause is very special to me as my brother Dermot died last year suddenly due to an unknown heart condition, and also related family history. This day is also extremely significant to me. As to the day, it is 1 year since Der left us, and to the date, it is the last time I saw Der alive. I’m not only running this in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation, but also to try raise awareness for more adults to get regular routine blood tests, and to encourage their friends and family to do so too. A lot of adults don’t do this because they’re young, fit, healthy, etc, but sometimes this is insignificant, and your body may not give you any warning signs that something is wrong. This could save a life! Also, any donations in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation would be much appreciated, as they play such an active role in helping those in need ❤️ This one is for you Der 🤍

Owner messages:

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us and donated so far! Getting triple what we set out to get is such an amazing achievement 🥺❤️

About Irish Heart Foundation

Every hour someone in Ireland suffers from a stroke. Every day, hundreds of Irish people are diagnosed with heart disease. The lives of these people are often cut tragically short. Many are left disabled. Almost 9,000 people die each year, making heart disease and stroke one of the nation’s biggest killers. It shouldn’t be this way and this fact forms our reason for being. We are the nation’s heart and stroke charity. Our mission is to effect positive change in the lifestyles of Irish people, to achieve better outcomes for those affected by heart disease and stroke and to challenge when the health of our nation is put at risk. We empower people to live longer, healthier lives. Thank you for choosing to support us.
