Daire and Marty fundraising for Little Heroes NI
Thanks so much for checking out our Belfast Marathon fundraiser! We’re Daire and Marty — two (generally sensible) lads who’ve signed up to run the full Belfast Marathon… all 26.2 miles of it 😅 We’re doing it for Little Heroes, a local charity that supports seriously ill children and their families across Northern Ireland at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. One of the things that really stuck with us is that many parents don’t want to leave their child’s bedside — even to rest. So we’re hoping to raise enough to fund pull-out chair beds, giving parents a bit of comfort while staying close to their child when they need it most. Each bed costs around £1,500, and we’d love to fund at least one — or as many as we possibly can. That’s what’s getting us through the training — because let’s be honest, there’s been plenty of sore legs, early mornings and moments of “why did we sign up for this?” 😅 If you can donate, we’d really appreciate it — every pound genuinely makes a difference and helps us get closer to that goal. And if you fancy coming out on the day, Little Heroes will have cheer stations along the route, so you can give us a shout (we’ll absolutely need it by mile 20!). If you’d like to get involved with that, just drop an email to support@littleheroesni.org If donating’s not an option, even sharing the page or cheering us on means a lot. Thanks a million for backing us — we’ll need all the help we can get getting over that finish line 💜
