Christian Walbröl fundraising for SERVE in Solidarity in Clare Burren Marathon Challenge 2026

Hi everyone, thank you for visiting my fundraising page. My name is Christian, and I am a German Volunteer currently living in Ireland. During my volunteer year, I am involved with several organisations, including SERVE, a volunteering and development organisation (you can find more information below). In May, I will be running 10 km in the Clare Burren Marathon to support my participation in SERVE’s Overseas Volunteer Programme in the Philippines. In July, I'll travel to the Philippines, where I will work alongside local partners supporting the Badjao community — an Indigenous group facing ongoing marginalisation. We will support teaching in a local Learning Centre, help facilitate youth work and leadership activities, and assist with maintenance and improvement projects within the school and community housing. This is part of a year-long programme that includes training in Ireland, global citizenship education, and a four week overseas placement. Through this experience, I will be involved in community-based development work while learning about global justice and solidarity. Every donation goes directly toward making this programme possible. I would be very grateful if you would consider supporting my participation with a contribution. Any contribution is truly appreciated. If you are unable to donate but would still like to help, sharing this page on social media would mean a lot to me. Thank you very much for your time and support. Kind regards, Christian

About SERVE in Solidarity

SERVE is an Irish development and volunteering organisation tackling poverty, inequality, and injustice in vulnerable communities worldwide. Since 2003, we’ve partnered with trusted organisations across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to deliver education, skills training, and capacity-building programmes. By working alongside communities, we co-create sustainable solutions to challenges such as food insecurity, unemployment, and climate change. Your support funds initiatives like vocational training for young people, women’s empowerment projects, and sustainable agriculture. Run for SERVE and help us create a world of equality, opportunity, and solidarity. Together, we can make every step count.
