ShoutOut is a registered charity harnessing education to promote inclusion and equality for the LGBTQ+ community. We empower LGBTQ+ people and work to build networks of informed allies who will work alongside the LGBTQ+ community, to ensure their rights are protected. We do this by developing educational programmes on LGBTQ+ issues and delivering them to school students, teachers, youth workers, parents and guardians, higher education institutions, community groups, sports organisations and workplaces. Since 2012 we've been delivering workshops in secondary schools across the island of Ireland which tackle LGBTQ+ bullying, and we've completed over 2,250 student workshops. That means we’ve spoken directly to over 67,500 students! We use our on-the-ground experience of speaking with young people to inform all of our training modules.
LGBT Ireland is a national charitable organisation providing support services to people who are lesbian, gay, bi, transgender, queer, or intersex (LGBTQI+) and their family members. The organisation established in 2010, when seven regional LGBT helplines joined efforts to co-ordinate the provision of high quality supports and information throughout Ireland. Informed by the issues and experiences raised through our frontline services such as the National LGBT Helpline, we also undertake extensive training and advocacy work to enhance the visibility, inclusion and rights of LGBTQI+ people living in Ireland.
Sanctuary Runners is an innovative, award-winning, solidarity-through-sport organisation which uses running, jogging, walking and other sporting activities to bring everyone in the community together - including migrants and especially those seeking international protection and refugee status. Founded in Cork in 2018, Sanctuary Runners has grown to c.40 groups nationwide, supporting a community-led approach to integration around Ireland. The impact of this award-winning organisation is far-reaching and our model allows communities to get to know each other and improves physical and mental health. As a community-based group that focuses on positive action, we operate under the principles of solidarity, friendship and respect.
