About Grow Mental Health (Grow in Ireland)
Grow is a national community based Mental Health organisation which helps people who have suffered, or are suffering, from mental health problems. Members are helped to recover from all forms of mental breakdown, or indeed, to prevent such happening.
Grow, founded in Australia in 1957 by former mental sufferers, has a national network of over 130 groups in Ireland. It's principal strength is the support members give each other from their own experience in matters to do with mental health.
Grow's Misson is to create new hope, sense of identity, meaning and valued connections by empowering people to nurture their own positive mental health and wellbeing, by supporting personal growth and establishing a path of recovery with education, self teaching and peer support.
Since coming to Ireland in 1969, Grow Mental Health has established 130 free support groups operating in communities throughout Ireland. The groups meet on a weekly basis and are open to anyone over 18 years of age.
