Hi Everyone. I’m completing the Clontarf half marathon to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society in honour of my Dad Kieron. Dad was such a fun, loving person. He had such a lust for life, he was excited to be a grandad and got to spend a few months enjoying time with his grandson Finn. I’m sad that he won’t get to meet his other grandkids including my son Charlie, but I’m grateful for the years we had together. We had some great times travelling, eating in nice restaurants and experiencing new types of culture and food together. He loved dancing, my sister and I could never get him off the dance floor and snooker was a great passion of his. Rather than talk about my Dads illness, I thought it was important to talk about the person he was. We never expected him to pass away at the age of 61 and we miss him everyday. He had an amazing outlook on life and I’m so happy to have had a dad like him. I’m grateful for any donation big or small. Thank you so much in advance. Xxx

About Irish Cancer Society

Cancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people dying each year. That's almost 25 people dying from cancer every day across Ireland. An average of 1 person every hour. However, thanks to earlier detection, improved care and targeted treatments, more people are surviving cancer than ever before. Today, there are 200,000 cancer survivors in Ireland. The Irish Cancer Society are working towards a future where nobody dies from cancer, and everyone affected by the disease will have access to world class treatment and support. Typically receiving only 5% of income from the Government, your support helps provide key services to ensure no one has to face cancer alone and funds vital cancer research with over €30 million invested since 2010.
