Chloe Canavan fundraising for Endometriosis Association of Ireland
Hi everyone. I’ve decided to start a fundraiser for Endometriosis Ireland. I’m going to walk 100Km with my dogs during the month of July/ a little into August to raise money. I’ll post the amount of KM I walk every day to my Facebook page so everyone can see my progress. I’m going to get a little into my own story and why I’m doing this below. In May this year, I was diagnosed with Stage III endometriosis after months of worsening pain that became so intense I could barely walk or work. It felt like my body was shutting down — and like no one had real answers for what was happening. Prior to this I had a my first laparoscopy 2 years ago. They found multiple adhesions but I was told no endometriosis. My pain never left or got better and I was losing hope anyone would be able to give me answers. I had been suffering for years, but accepted the fact I didn’t have endometriosis. Eventually, I had a second surgery (thanks to a rapidly growing cyst which turned out to be an endometrioma) that revealed how deeply the disease had spread — affecting my ovaries, pelvic walls, and other areas. While the surgery gave me some relief, the reality is: this condition is chronic, and there’s still a long road ahead with no cure. Since recovering, I’ve been able to walk again and do a little more — and I want to use this window, while I still can, to raise awareness and funds for the Endometriosis Association of Ireland. This charity supports people across the country who are still trying to get diagnosed, who feel unheard, and who are living with the everyday pain and uncertainty that endometriosis brings. They rely on donations to keep going — and every euro really does make a difference. Thank you for supporting this cause, and for helping make endometriosis visible and if you’re struggling too just know you’re not alone 💛
