Alison Newman fundraising for Irish Heart Foundation
Due to my family history cardiac health is a matter that has always been, well, very close to my heart. To help raise awareness that ‘Her Heart Matters’, next spring I will join an Arctic Challenge in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation. 14 women, including myself and my good friend MaryPaula will travel 350km north of the Arctic Circle where we will learn the essential survival and navigational skills required before we undertake an expedition into the wilderness, pulling our equipment across frozen lakes and camp out in -20 degrees under the Northern Lights, spending six days battling the stark environment and extreme cold. It will be a test of endurance, stamina and both mental and physical resilience as we expose ourselves to severe conditions unlike anything we have experienced before. Fundraising is a lifeline for the Irish Heart Foundation, and your donation can help them to make a difference. Thank you so much for your generosity, I truly appreciate it.
