Alan McGrath fundraising for The Mater Hospital Foundation
This year marks 10 years since we lost my Mam (Linda Moran) to cancer. It’s a milestone I never imagined reaching, and one that still brings a lot of emotion and reflection. She was the heart of our family, and her strength throughout her illness continues to stay with us every day. To honour her memory, myself and my friends are taking on the Hell & Back challenge on June 6th, 2026. We’ll be pushing ourselves physically and mentally, all for a cause that means so much to us. It’s one of the toughest obstacle courses out there—physically demanding, muddy, exhausting, and designed to push you to your limits. We’re taking it on in her name, knowing it will test us in every way, but proud to do something meaningful together in her memory. We are raising funds for Cancer Care in the Mater Hospital, where she received such compassionate care. The staff there do incredible work every single day for patients and families facing their hardest moments. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to us. It’s our way of turning loss into something positive, and giving back in her memory. Thank you for your support—it truly means everything.
