As many of our customers will remember, we lost our dear friend and colleague Timmy Cummins in October 2023. Timmy was a remarkable person, working with Metal Technology for over 20 years. His technical knowledge of our industry, his easy-going nature and the ability to communicate at all levels were truly unique as a fabrication training manager to our customer network. He was also a key team player in our R&D department where his skills in developing new systems were invaluable. He continues to be sorely missed within the business. In his honour and in support of Brainwaves NI, who supported Timmy and his family during his illness, we are putting in 5 relay teams totalling 24 people, including Timmy's daughter Maeve, to run the Belfast Marathon this year on Sunday 3rd May. Brainwaves NI is Northern Ireland’s only volunteer led Brain Tumour research and support charity. The startling statistics are that more children and adults under 40 die of a brain tumour than any other cancer, yet the national spend on research is less than 1%. We are aiming to raise as much as possible for this worthy cause in memory of Timmy with a target of £10,000 and appreciate any support our customers, suppliers, supplychain and friends can make. Training is well underway and if you are local and can make it, you will see the team branded with Metal Technology and Brainwaves NI so give us a cheer along the route!
