The Murtagh Family fundraising for Irish Sepsis Foundation in Analog Devices Cork City Marathon 2026

We are taking part in Cork City Marathon on May 31st in memory of our beloved Alanna who tragically lost her life to sepsis on March 1st 2024, at the age of 24. Alanna was taken from us far too soon, and we want to honour her by raising vital funds for the Irish Sepsis Foundation, an organisation dedicated to increasing awareness, improving early detection, and supporting those affected by this silent killer. Sepsis can affect anyone, and early recognition is key to saving lives. By donating, you are helping to fund crucial education and research that could prevent more families from experiencing this heartbreaking loss. Every step we take on race day is for Alanna, and every euro raised here will go directly to this great cause. We hope that you can help us by donating whatever you can. Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely. You can also share our page using the Share options. This is a great way to show your support. Thank you!

About Irish Sepsis Foundation

The Irish Sepsis Foundation was established in 2022 to raise awareness of Sepsis, a life-threatening condition that can affect anyone, at any time. Founded by barrister Doireann O’Mahony, the charity is driven by survivors, families, and healthcare advocates united by one mission — to save lives through education, advocacy, and early recognition. The Foundation works nationwide to increase public awareness, support families impacted by Sepsis, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to improve outcomes. Through campaigns, community events, and partnerships, we aim to ensure that no life is lost to Sepsis due to lack of awareness or understanding.

About Analog Devices Cork City Marathon 2026

Organised by Cork City Council, the Analog Devices Cork City Marathon has three distances: the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K race. The routes weave through Cork City’s scenic and vibrant streets and suburbs, past iconic landmarks and along the bustling quays. The incredible support from Corkonians lining the streets, paired with the camaraderie among participants, guarantees a memorable day for all.

The  Analog Devices Cork City Marathon is open to all, from elite athletes chasing records to first-time runners tackling personal goals. It's more than a race—it’s about community, resilience, and making a difference.

Building on the €300,000 raised for 70 charity partners in 2025, we aim to double this target in the coming years. With our new tagline ‘Your Race, Their Hope.’ We encourage participants to run for causes close to their hearts, making every stride on May 31st count towards vital, life-changing work.
