CCRT is a registered charity founded by Professor John Crown, and which now supports a truly translational cancer research program, under the leadership of the CCRT Board of Directors. Translational research is research which spans the laboratory and the clinic. Often referred to as ‘bench- to-bedside’ research as the aim is to translate findings made in the lab to patient care. We are a small organisation and pride ourselves on being lean with minimal administration costs. CCRT has a compact team of clinical research nurses, data managers and scientists, working together with consultant medical oncologists, who are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to cancer patients through continuous research and access to cutting edge clinical trials. Our clinical trials are conducted across all cancer types including breast, ovarian, prostate, lung, pancreatic and melanoma (skin cancer), to name but a few. We are very grateful for your support.
Welcome to Joe Duffy BMW Clontarf half marathon and 5 mile. It takes place in the scenic setting of Clontarf Promenade and Bull Island with views of Howth Head and Dublin bay. The race is contained within an off road promenade and Bull Island giving it unique and relaxing appeal. This year we are partnered with the Mater Hospital Foundation charity and are encouraging all participants to make a difference for critically ill patients and their families while taking part. This fundraising platform allows runners to promote and fundraise for worthy charitable causes that they have a strong significant meaning with. By registering for the race, you will have the option to tell us about your charity and the reason you are looking to raise funds. We will use this fundraising platform to showcase these stories and together we will help raise funds for some worthy causes!
