Ademola Akiode fundraising for The Cancer Clinical Research Trust

Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. I’ve always loved running, for the last 5 years I’ve been actively doing this and I would like to challenge myself now with this marathon, and potentially many more. I’ve always been a huge fitness and health advocate and would like to see how this adventure adds to my existing understanding and passion of fitness and health, and just where it takes me in general. In the years 2020, 2023 and 2025, I lost my grandma on my mums side, my grandma on my dads side and then my Grandad on dads side to I’ll health. They lived good and long lives and I’ll always remember their love and support for me all my life, and I’d love to do this in memory of them and others i know in and around me who have passed or lost loved ones from cancer and in general. My Grandma also passed from cancer therefore supporting this charity made sense to me and I’d be proud to represent them and help support the good work they are doing.

About The Cancer Clinical Research Trust

CCRT is a registered charity founded by Professor John Crown, and which now supports a truly translational cancer research program, under the leadership of the CCRT Board of Directors. Translational research is research which spans the laboratory and the clinic. Often referred to as ‘bench- to-bedside’ research as the aim is to translate findings made in the lab to patient care. We are a small organisation and pride ourselves on being lean with minimal administration costs. CCRT has a compact team of clinical research nurses, data managers and scientists, working together with consultant medical oncologists, who are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to cancer patients through continuous research and access to cutting edge clinical trials. Our clinical trials are conducted across all cancer types including breast, ovarian, prostate, lung, pancreatic and melanoma (skin cancer), to name but a few. We are very grateful for your support.
