The Waterford Viking Marathon returns for its 15th year on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June 2027.

With five events across two days, there's something for everyone, catering to all levels of fitness and ability. Whether you're taking on the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, Children's Run, or the Waterford Viking Run for All, this is much more than a running event—it's a true Festival of Running.

Experience breathtaking routes along the River Suir, run through the spectacular grounds of the world-renowned Mount Congreve Gardens, and soak up the electric atmosphere as you pass historic landmarks, ancient streets, and thousands of cheering spectators. Every step takes you through over 1,100 years of Viking history, with the stunning Waterford countryside providing the perfect backdrop.

Following another hugely successful festival in 2026, we're looking forward to welcoming runners of all ages and abilities back for an unforgettable weekend in 2027.

Can't make it to Waterford? You can still be part of the action by taking part in our Virtual Marathon, Half Marathon or 10K. Complete your chosen distance wherever you are, and we'll send your official finisher's medal and premium event t-shirt straight to your door.

Children taking part in the Children's Run will receive a finisher's medal, with the option to purchase an official event t-shirt for just €12 during registration.
