In loving memory of Rob Turner, The Great Erris Run 2026 will take place on Sunday, 9th August 2026 at the Broadhaven Bay Hotel hosted by MFitness.
This special community event will feature both a 10K and 5K route. Welcoming runners, joggers, and walkers of all abilities to come together for a meaningful day of remembrance, community spirit, and support.
Rob was a much-loved member of the local community whose kindness, generosity, and dedication touched countless lives. Through his many years supporting young people as a teacher, coach, mentor, and Special Needs Assistant, Rob was known for his unwavering commitment to inclusion, encouragement, and community spirit.
Rob’s family have chosen the Erris Youth Disability Network as the charity beneficiary for this event.
EYDN is a charity-based organisation supporting young people with disabilities and their families across the Erris region of North Mayo, working to create a more inclusive community with equal opportunities for young people with additional needs. All funds raised will go directly towards supporting and expanding this valuable work.
The aim of the day is not only to honour Rob’s memory, but also to create a positive and inclusive event. Every donation, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated.
