On 25th September 2025, I had my kidney removed following a
diagnosis of kidney cancer.
One year later, I am incredibly grateful to have made a full
recovery, and to mark this milestone I am organising a 5K and 10K Charity Run
in Bunninadden on Saturday, 19th September, in aid of the Sligo Branch of the
Irish Kidney Association.
As the saying goes, "When you can, you must." I am
fortunate to be able to take part myself, and I hope you'll join me in
supporting this wonderful cause.
Every euro raised will help the Sligo Branch provide vital
support for kidney patients and their families, including renal dialysis and
transplant patients, counselling services, emergency financial assistance,
patient holidays, and organ donor awareness campaigns.
Whether you register for the run, make a donation, or simply
share this post, your support—no matter how small—will make a real difference.
The links on this page will allow you to either:
Register for the 5K or 10K run, or
Make a donation if you're unable to take part.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support. I hope to
see many of you on 19th September!
