This Christmas we’re asking you to ‘Step Up for Solidarity’ by joining, or donating to, our 12ks of Christmas campaign. Taking place between December 9th and 20th you will join thousands of people who hope to complete at least 1km a day of any exercise for 12 days. Easy Peasy! The funds raised will help Sanctuary Runners with our vital work uniting people of all backgrounds through running and walking, promoting friendship, solidarity, and respect. At a time when many seek to divide be the light in the dark – ‘Step Up for Solidarity’.
Sanctuary Runners brings people together in friendship and solidarity to run, jog and walk together. We are Ireland’s only organisation dedicated solely to community integration and we are passionate about what we do. We welcome all members of our communities, including asylum seekers, refugees, migrants and all Irish residents. We even have Sanctuary Swimmers and Paddlers too! Sanctuary Runners is recognised internationally as a groundbreaking model in the area of community integration and we have the awards to prove it! To build and sustain our 40 + Sanctuary Runner groups across Ireland we need your help so every cent you can raise for, or donate to, us this Christmas will help us build more bridges, dispel more myths, connect more people and give hope to so many.
Keeping our groups open to everyone means we rely on external support, not participant fees. By taking part in the 12ks of Christmas, or donating to our campaign, you will be helping us to cover essential costs. These costs include;
- bus hire
- our funky blue running tops
- additional gear when needed
- storage and hall hire
- refreshments
- race entries
- group engagement and meetups
- conferences
- communications and so much more.
A small but dynamic team work with our Sanctuary Runner groups across the country and are constantly looking to bring new groups on board.
So please, if you can, help us to build bridges this Christmas.
