On March 2, a devastating fire tore through Sitio Naba, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, destroying over 195 homes and displacing approximately 800 people from the Badjao Community. Families have lost everything and are in urgent need of shelter, food, clothing, and essential supplies.
SERVE is launching an Emergency Relief Appeal to provide immediate assistance to those affected. We are partnering with the Presentation Sisters and the Nano Nagle team in Cebu, who are on the ground providing direct support to displaced families. With their deep-rooted connection to the Badjao community, they are ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most.
We have responded to emergency situations with the Nano Nagle team before, including Typhoon and COVID-19 relief, and we are committed to standing in solidarity once again during this crisis.
SERVE is an Irish development and volunteering organisation tackling poverty, inequality, and injustice in vulnerable communities worldwide. Since 2003, we’ve partnered with trusted organisations across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to deliver education, skills training, and capacity-building programmes.
By working alongside communities, we co-create sustainable solutions to challenges such as food insecurity, unemployment, and climate change. Your support funds initiatives like vocational training for young people, women’s empowerment projects, and sustainable agriculture.
Run for SERVE and help us create a world of equality, opportunity, and solidarity. Together, we can make every step count.
