Camino for Cliona’s October 2026 – Supporting families
across Ireland one step at a time.
Departing on October 2nd & returning on October 7th 19
wonderful people from all over the country and we will walk over 100km over 4
days. The route they are taking is the Camimo de Finisterre – from the
Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela to Fisterra “the end of the world”.
They will be walking in solidarity with the approximately 4,000
families caring for seriously sick children all over Ireland. This
trip will raise much needed funds and awareness for these families and
their financial struggle to cover the non-medical costs of their child's
illness.
We are extremely grateful for the huge commitment each one
of the participants are making to Cliona's, taking time out of work, personally
funding their trip and helping raise awareness & much needed funds
Please show them your support, if you can, by making a donation on their page.
Cliona's Foundation provides nationwide financial assistance to families of seriously sick children to help with the non medical costs of caring for their child while in hospital or at home These costs include but are not limited to accommodation, travel, car parking, food, childcare, specialist equipment & much more and can amount to an additional €15,000 a year For many of these families one of the parents has to give up work to care for their child reducing the household income & placing significant financial pressure on them. Cliona’s believe that no family should have to face any added financial stress, when already struggling with the devastation and trauma of a seriously ill child. Cliona’s relies 100% on income raised through a range of activities including events & fundraising, corporate donations, philanthropy & private donations and charity partnerships & have supported 1,768 families over the past 17 years - 186 in 2025. Thank you for your support
