Ryan Feeney fundraising for Incredable in Phoenix Energy Belfast City Marathon 2026
'Trauma creates change that you can't choose; healing is about creating change you do choose' In loving memory of Janice Shenton Waller 1961 - 2025 xo Hi, I'm Ryan! I work with the Youth Team for Heroes. Last year, I had trained for months getting into really good condition for 2025's marathon. My mum was my biggest supporter in this regard: she raised countless money in the market, shared all of my posts, and was immensely proud of me... I found her dead that morning... I will never forget it: that image will stay with me, until the day I die. Mum was an air stewardess for British Airways, worked in high-end fashion, owned a shop, and was the best stallholder to ever grace St George's Market in Belfast 💜 All of the pain, sadness, and guilt have changed me. I can't explain it. Now that she isn't here anymore, I have to learn to live as just me: no counsel, no wise words, no advice. Therefore, it is my absolute mission to mark the one-year anniversary of my mum's assimilation with the force (apropos she died on Star Wars day), to run this marathon to the absolute peak of my abilities! The sadness I will feel that day will fuel my run better than any workout regime could ever hope to! It would make me so happy & mean the world if you could share this page, and even spare a little money! I'd really appreciate it =] Thank you to Annabelle for giving me the opportunity to make a horrible anniversary more tolerable <3 Mum always said I dwell too much on certain things, particularly things that I cannot change. I know I can't change the past, but I can make changes to be become a better person. Once I cross that finish line: I promise to finally let go, and say my final farewell to Mum. I truly believe after the marathon, I can find the Ryan that I've been looking for! =] Ryan 💜 💜 'Better off wounded, rather than to have never have been injured at all.'
